Obu & Port Phillip 20th Anniversary Celebration

Free Japanese Cultural Workshops

Japanese cultural workshops were held on 13 November in the St Kilda Town Hall Auditorium to celebrate our long lasting partnerships with Obu. The workshops were a huge success with approximately 220 people participating in various sessions.

Japanese plants and stone lantern at St Kilda Botanical Gardens

Have you visited St Kilda Botanical Gardens lately?  Did you know there is a section with the theme of ‘Asia’ situated near EcoCentre on Blessing Road side of the Gardens?  To commemorate the 20th anniversary of our partnerships with Obu, we have planted Japanese maples and azaleas, and installed a Japanese stone lantern in this tranquil garden.

The stone lantern is funded by Obu citizens to celebrate our long lasting friendship.
