I did many things with Yiota Michaela when she was here on Staff Exchange in 2005. She was a collegue of my mothers, and we were able to meet on many occassions. I am Japanese but I didn't know about Japanese traditional culture. Having Yiota in Japan was a good chance for me. I probably wouldn't have learnt about Japanese culture if she didn't come.

I found lots of cultural differences between Japan and Australia during themany conversations with Yiota, eg liquid sugar, bathroom chair, sound of the signals, way of shopping (fitting) and so on. Finding out these differences is interesting. The exchange program is a good way for Australian people to learn about our country (Japan) and for Japanese people to learn about Australia.
